Festival of Cricket (FOC) is an awe-inspiring, unifying annual one-day event that has become one of the most popular occasions in the UK Sri Lankan community social calendar. It has been held every year since 1989 and is aimed at creating close bonds of fellowship and community through the spirit of cricket and celebration.
The main attraction of the day is a knock-out cricket competition played across eight cricket pitches, culminating in an exciting final match to crown the year’s champions. Alongside the cricket there are live cultural and musical performances, food stalls, a children’s fun fair, bazaars, and entertainment for all ages.
The Festival also has a strong charitable focus, with proceeds donated to organisations such as Cancer Research UK, Anthony Nolan, and Cancer Relief Sri Lanka, as well as other school and community causes.
